GET /weather-stations/v2/stations/observations - Get Bulk Station Observations

GET

/weather-stations/v2/stations/observations

Returns observations for every station the API key is authorised for, in a single call. This is the primary endpoint for consumers who need data across their full entitled station set: dashboards, monitoring systems, and data pipelines.

The station set is auth-driven: the response covers all stations the key is entitled to, with no station list to supply. (Requesting a named subset via a station_ids parameter is planned for a later release.)

This is a dedicated bulk endpoint, distinct from the single-station GET /stations/{station_id} path.

Time parameter modes (mutually exclusive):

  • Relative window: last_minutes=N, anchored to server clock.
  • Absolute range: from_date_time and/or to_date_time. Combining both modes returns 400 Bad Request.

Max range cap: As with the single-station endpoint, the time window must not exceed 1440 minutes (24 hours) per request.

Bulk record cap: For bulk queries a second cap limits the total observations returned, enforced as an upfront multiplication: station_count × returned_observations_per_station ≤ 1440, where station_count is the number of entitled stations and returned_observations_per_station is the number of observations actually returned for each station after timestep sub-sampling (time_window ÷ timestep). This validation runs before any data is fetched. If the product exceeds 1440, the request is rejected immediately with 400 Bad Request and an invalid_params entry naming the offending time parameter (widen the timestep or narrow the time window to comply). Because the count is on what is returned, a coarser timestep lets you reach more stations: at timestep=hourly a 24-hour window returns 24 observations per station, so 60 stations × 24 = 1440 (valid); at timestep=1min the same window is 1440 per station, so only one station fits.
